My Story

    My name is Jacqueline Serrano, and I am married with 3 children. I started Scentsy in February 2011. Shortly after retiring from 20 years of active duty I started working full time because my retirement check was not enough to make ends meet. When I received my first few pay checks, I know then it was not enough. So, I tried 2 direct selling companies. Realizing after a short time that the products were expensive and not something people would come back to buy more of anytime soon, I came to the realization I need something people would keep coming back for. I was at an event and my friend sold me a Scentsy Warmer. I will never forget I took home my Angora Warmer and three bars of wax Rio Beach, Satin Sheets and White Tea Cactus. She told me, take 2 cubes, and let it warm, and I fell in love with Scentsy. Then I realized sooner or later I was going need more wax. Within two weeks I wanted another 2 warmers and more wax. So, I gave my sponsor a call and she told me how much I could make if I set a side one hour a day. She said, “If you love it, then sell it”. At first this was just to help me make ends meet and I realized I was meeting new people; “Socializing” then I started recruiting. As I recruited, I trained each person, but I did not only get to know them I got to know their family. I was also helping them out. My family is now more involved with Scentsy; we now spend more time together. My recruits are now “FAMILY” and I enjoy showing how Scentsy works and how it can help others make an income from it. But I knew if I love the product so would everyone else. My “WHY” was to make ends meet but now it is to be my own boss. I enjoy meeting new people and knowing I that Scentsy gives me that flexibility.
